OTT is an organization of companies and hospitality workers in Trancoso with the purpose of assisting in long-term civic planning, in partnership with the public sector, by sharing sector experience and local knowledge. Our objective is to ensure the sustainable development of tourism, attracting maximum investment and economic opportunities for the community, while protecting the quality of life through best conservation and cultural preservation practices.
Sustainable Tourism
"You cannot create jobs by destroying jobs” is one of the tenets of sustainable tourism. The travel industry being continuously more focused on policies and practices which protect long-term prosperity over short-term objectives which may cause harm. Learning lessons from leading tourism destinations of the world and also studying the examples of ‘lost paradises’, tourism hot-spots which lost their appeal, professional of the sector have refined approaches over recent decades to plan tourism economies which grow and expand even while having positive environmental and social impacts on their communities.

Is OTT new?
OTT was formed formally in 2024 but many businesses of the tourism industry have been collaborating together nearly two decades to promote responsible tourism development in Trancoso, and having grown in this mission are uniting efforts with a more efficient and effective structure.
What are the principal objectives of OTT?
To encourage the public power’s engagement with Trancoso’s long-term sustainable tourism goals, mixing shorter and longer term planning objectives, while dialoging with the tourism industry nationally and globally to promote the south of Bahia and Brazilian tourism in general.
Can any business be a part of OTT?
OTT accepts as members Trancoso's tourism and tourism-related companies, agencies, shops, suppliers, plus individuals with high motivation to support the mission outlined in our Manifesto. OTT also offers working alliances with non-profit or environmental-related associations across Brazil and the world who support sustainable tourism goals.
Can OTT help me find a job in sustainable tourism?
